Rome Cat Painting
The funny thing about cats is that they almost always look the same where ever you travel, just like this guy who was caught napping in the Coliseum in Rome, Italy.

Isle of Capri, Italy
2.5 x 3.5 Inches
This print is of one of the winding roads up the Island of Capri. Steep and narrow, we visited on a cold and blustery day and the road was quiet as few pedestrians were out.

Burano Italy Tourists
Burano Italy is the northeastern suburb of Venice. It is reached by boat and makes a great day trip! The town is quiet and covers the island, with canals acting as thoroughfares. There are a few larger squares and small lanes, bridges and alleyways. You can wander in the town all day and with each turn discover something new. In some of the squares, business people set up stalls and gift shops. They sell brightly color murano glass figures, masks and lace of all kinds. That’s the scene I’m showing. Tourists gathered around a stall while taking in the sights and colors of the town.

Title: Burano, Red house, Italy 2.5″ x 3.5″
Burano Island is in the northern part of the Venetian lagoon. We took a water bus to the island from Venice and spent the day wandering through squares, along lanes and alleys. The town of Burano covers the island and is connected by small canals that act as thoroughfares. In this painting you see a fisherman working on his boat with one of the island’s brightly painted houses in the background.

Verona, Italy Romeo Juliet
2.5 ” x 3.5 ”
Oh, Romeo, Romeo . . . This print is of the balcony of Romeo and Juliet fame, the star-crossed lovers play written by William Shakespeare. However, the balcony was added in the 1930s for the sake of tourists. The building houses a small museum and the balcony is available for weddings. Verona is a beautiful northern city in Veneto, in Italy. The day we visited was sunny and warm. We wandered through the streets admiring the architecture. Finally we ended our trip in the town square, eating cones of gelato and watching people stroll by!

Rialto Bridge Venice Italy
2.5 inches x 3.5 inches.
This is a view of the steps leading up to the Rialto Bridge in Venice Italy. (The Ponte di Rialto) bridge. I love the contrast in light and forms as you view the bridge from the support arches leading onto the bridge.
The bridge has been called the true heart of Venice as it spans the Grand Canal. It was built in 3 years, between 1588 and 1591 by the architect, Antonio da Ponte, who competed against such giants for the contract as Michelangelo. Crossing the bridge is a wonderful experience. The crowds are enormous. The bridge consists of a wide walkway and two narrower walkways. The bridge is lined with small shops selling an impossibly colorful array of jewelry, linens and Murano glass gifts for tourists.
